Accreditation

The WVACVB believes that CVBs have a responsibility to be good stewards of the funds received through lodging tax revenue.

We also maintain that CVBs use those funds effectively. To focus on those standards, the WVACVB oversees an accreditation program for its members. Established in 2006, accreditation must be renewed every four years. Starting in July 2021, West Virginia State Code (https://code.wvlegislature.gov/7-18-13A/) requires that all CVBs be accredited through the WVACVB to receive their portion of the hotel motel tax.
